Why the City of Moncton screwed up with NHL

Christopher Dominion (Moncton)

I'm sorry that i'm blogging so much, but I'm really bored.

The City of Moncton and the NHL. Match made in heaven?...or a match made in pocketbook heaven?

The moncton colliseum featured two NHL Pre-Season games this week, including Pittsburg Vs. Philadelphia, and Boston Vs. New York. I have to say, having attended both games...it was quite the boob. There were SO many vacant seats-in a situation that clearly called for more butts.

What the city decided to do was sell the tickets at a really expensive asking price, and sell them together. So if you wanted to go to the game--you had go to both, or no dice.

Later they started to realize that this shizz wasn't selling. So they split up the tickets. And LAST NIGHT...they decided to sell tickets 2 for 1. Can you imagine how pissed off the people who bought the seats in advance were?

And the really crappy part was, if you bought a shitty ticket...you could still sit down near the ice...because there were so many empty seats. I had a media pass, and I was sitting 4 seats away from ice level--and that was my choice.

City of moncton....YOU SCREWED UP!

That's is quite typical of Moncton BigWigs trying to suck the money out of the little guy, and screwing it up. A casino for instance, if that is still an issue, who would that really help? It's a way of keeping the little guy dreaming big, while blackening the situation around him.

Ps. Albertan's are on par with Quebec'ers for snob-power, it's like living in a Canadian Texas.
