I don't get it!
Christopher Dominion (Moncton)
I know we're not supposed to rag on the media-our fellow soldiers in the battle field, so I won't mention the specific outlet, but it's a New Brunswick news paper.
This morning, the paper had this headline just below the fold : "Ontario to ban expiry dates on gift cards"
Now, granted this is the first time that this has ever happened in Canada, and it's a kicker story. But doesn't it really have a place on the front page of a Maritime newspaper?
The only reason it's an issue in Ontario, is because media heavy-hitters like the Toronto Star, and 680 News got being the issue, and convinced people-not the first time that's happened, can we say bringing your own bottle of wine to restaurants?
But I don't understand why that's actually on there! How many people from the Maritimes actually care about that issue? Furthermore, I believe it would have been wise if they put Osama bin Laden's supposed death instead of that story, because THAT's the story people are talking about.
