New Brunswick paper strikes out again.

Christopher Dominion (Moncton)

I hate to rag on this paper, but it just has to be ragged on.

Without mentioning the name-this provincial newspaper has been attacked by cities far too many times for my liking.

The latest attack, if you can call it that, comes from the City of Dieppe.

A councillor took offence to an article in the paper that suggested that the city was a little spend thrift with's its cash, and it's debt load is the largest in the province.

He told other councillors-and the public, that Dieppe does not have the largest debt load in the province, and that they are well aware of what they owe. He also said that they are working to pay it back, and will do so as soon as they can.

All well and good...I want to ask you this though. Not everyone will love the stories in the media...but Do you think it's ethical for a newspaper to have constant coments about how biased it is?

When there were bike lanes in the city--this paper started accusing a councillor of not listenning to what people in his ward were saying...When a park was getting a new road--this paper attacked the city, by saying it was destroying nature...During the election--this newspaper was accused of being to Tory friendly...and now when a city asks for a loan...it calls them spend thrift.

To me the media has the duty to be unbiased, and tell each side of the story in a fair manner.

Someone at this paper is using it as an outlet to boradcast their own thoughts and views, and act on their own vendettas.
